On the occasion of the birth of Syeda Fatima Zahra (sa), Labaik Ya Zahra organised their Fourth Annual Syeda Tu Nisa El Aalameen conference on the 21st June 2008 at Islamic Centre of England, London. The purpose of this conference was particularly for the woman of Britain to adapt the qualities of Syeda Fatima (sa) in life today and practice the Islamic values in her manner.
The conference was precided by Ayatollah Abdual Hussain Moezi (Head of Islamic Centre of England), and Dr.Liaqat Malik (Chairman, DM Global TV, UK) was the chief Guest .while the Guest of honours included Hujjat ul Islam wal Muslimeen Maulana Maqbool Hussain Alawi (Chairman, Islamic Thought, UK), Hujjat ul Islam Syed Sabtain Razavi (Head of Urdu Department, Islamic Centre of England), Hujjat ul Islam Agha Shaikh Ali Hussain Al-Hakeem (Head of Religious Affair, Islamic Centre of England), Maulana Jaffer Najm (Sakina Trust, London) Dr Liaqat Ali (Ex councillor, Waltham Forest), Dr Akhter Gulfam (Editor-in-chief, NAWA-I-WAQAT, UK),and Syed Ibrar Hussain (Abott Travel) .
Syeda Umme Farwa (founder,Labaik Ya Zahra), welcomed all the guests through her opening speech and she pointed out that the substantial number of attendants of ladies in this conference confirms that they strongly believe that BiBi Fatima Zahra (sa) is their true leader. She also emphasised upon the love and honour given to Bibi by her father, the holy Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) who always stood up as a mark of respect for his daughter, which reflects the status of Syeda Fatima (sa) in Islam. Furthermore, Syeda Umme Farwa discussed the characteristics for a good wife, a good daughter and a good mother using the example from the life led by Syeda Fatima (sa).
Ayatollah Abdual Hussain Moesee pointed out in his presidential Speech that Syeda Fatima (sa) was the best creation of God in the form of a human being. In addition, she is the leader of women in the present but also in the afterlife. He also said that the teachings of the Quran are found in her character and Surah Dahr in the Quran reflects upon her family. He also praised Labaik Ya Zahra and Syeda Umme Farwa’s efforts.
Chief guest Dr Liaqat Malik discussed the importance if the media to portray a peaceful picture of Islam in which our Muslim ladies have very important roles. He emphasised upon the need of using the media in order to train people and develop awareness of Islamic values in practical life which would protect the forthcoming generations. He also congratulates to Syeda Umme Farwa’s efforts and offered his cooperation in this matter.
Dr Liaqat Ali (Ex-Mayor) that Hazrat Fatima’s (sa) life is an excellent example for ladies. In the light of modern day, Lady Fatima’s (sa) life-story provides various examples that can be followed in order to raise Islamic awareness in society and coming generations. He concluded his speech by congratulating Labaik Ya Zahra for organising such a great event.
Dr Akhter Gulfam stated the fact that all aspects of Lady Fatima’s (sa) life convey the message of love and peace between mankind. He also acknowledged the efforts made by Labaik Ya Zahra in organising such a great number of events in such short time since being established in England.
Hujjat ul Islam Maulana Maqbool Hussain Alavi, Hujjat ul Islam Syed Sabtain Razavi and Hujjat ul Islam Shaikh Ali Hussain Al-Hakeem made contributions in regards to Syeda Fatima’s (sa) life.
Finally, Maulana Jaffer Najm pointed out that the birth of the founder of the Islamic revolution of Iran, Imam Roohullah Al Khomeni is shared on the same date as Lady Fatima (sa). He discussed Imam Khomeni’s virtues and reminded people the importance of unity in Islam.
Through the course of the conference, the young members of Labaik-Ya-Zahra performed plays about some of the Islamic stories and recited religious poetry to the audience. Idara-e-Jaaferia (404, Manchester) performed a play whereas the students of Hussani Mission (Newport), Al Zahra Centre (Watford), Sakina Trust (East London), Imamia Mission (London), Al-Haider Trust (Ilford-London) and Al Quaim Islamic Mission (Slough) recited Qaasidas.
A speech competition was held at the beginning of the conference in which Manzila Batool from Manchester and Fatima Hussain from Ilford Al Haider won the Competition.
The winner of the Syria ziarat ticket By Abbott Travels) was chosen through a raffle and the winner was Ali from Islamic Centre, who is an employee of the centre.
The surprise gift was won by Farwa Batool Kazmi and a year’s supply of the free newspaper, Nawai-e-Waqt won by Ms Khanom Azizi( islamic Centre) through raffle.
At the end of the conference, shields and presents were presented to the guests. Children were also given prizes for taking part and for the competition.
The hosting and organising duties were performed by Ali Iffi and Asma Hussain.
Overall, the event was a great success and was an opportunity to appreciate the blessings of Islam on the nation of Muslims in the light of the teaching of Bibi Zahra (sa).
